16th FILMSSHORT COMPETITION

Britanny Ferries

Why Enter?

After a four-year hiatus, the competition has been rekindled to help find short films for Brittany Ferries' onboard entertainment system. The aim is to expose the best shorts!

In all past competitions, more than 15% of films were selected. Previous finalists have garnered more than 10m combined views on the FILMSshort YouTube channel.

On top of that, we use industry judges and show the Grand Prize Winner to agents and producers from top creative agenices, like Canada, MindsEye and Knucklehead.

The competition has never been about profit: the vast majority of the entry money goes back into promoting the shorts and the filmmakers take 50% of any earnings.

The Steps

1. Submit a 2-20 minute short film (fiction, documentary and/or animation). There is a small submission fee. Earlybird is $15 (less for students and Gold members).

2. We select 10 finalists. Each finalist has the option to be included on the Brittany Ferries' onbard entertainment system as well as the FILMSshort YouTube channel (with paid promotion). Previous winners have had 100,000s views each.

3. The judges (see confirmed), including industry insiders, will choose winners in each category. The Grand Prize Winner is sent to reps on the look out for directors.
