At little more than a minute long, Coffee Name is essentially a comedy sketch. However, having been made by experienced British filmmaker Ed Wiles, it has the feel of a short film. Shot in just two hours, Coffee Name explores racial politics after a misunderstanding between a barista and a patron. It satirises the fear white people have of causing offense, especially the discomfort many feel saying the word "black" in front of black people. This may be unique to British sensibilities, but there seems to be similar anxieties in the US at least. If you like very short comedy film Coffee Name be sure to rate and share it.
