SEXY THING - DENIE PENTECOST (2006)

A slightly misleading title - do not expect to be titilated! - this is a beautifully made drama short from Australian filmmaker Denie Pentecost that was nominated for a Palme d'Or. Sexy Thing is the story of a young boy who escapes his reality by immersing himself in a watery version of the world. With no dialogue apart from an opening line heavy with subtext, it is also an example of how one can tell a story through images alone. The subject matter is not suitable for under 15s.
