THE BIG STORY - DAVID STOTEN & TIM WATTS (1994)

Written by Frank Gorshin, and directed by David Stoten and Tim Watts, The Big Story won the short animation BAFTA in 1995 and was nominated for an Oscar the same year. It is a stop-motion homage to Kirk Douglas (with his 1951 film Ace In The Hole the main platform). All three characters in it are versions of Douglas and the man himself was approached to do his own voiceover before Frank Gorshin stepped in. It is a very short animation about a young reporter pleading with his editor for his big break. If you like The Big Story rate and share it!
