The Brink won the People's Choice award in the 10th FILMSshort competition, proving its ability to capture the imagination. Directed by American filmmaker Ben Jendras, The Brink sees a man deserted in an endless wasteland. When he sees the sun glinting off a distant object, he sets off towards it but is blocked by another survivor, who assures him he cannot overcome the massive chasm in front separating them from rescue. But who is this second man, and why is our hero here anyway? All will be revealed.

Written by Anders Thomas Jensen, who also wrote the Oscar winning Election Night, The New Tenants are the eponymous gay couple who have moved into an apartment after the previous tenant was murdered. However, they have only been there a day when they now receive a series of unusual and unwanted visits that, due to their lack of baking knowledge, ends with most of the people dead.

Blue Hole was a big hit on the horror film festival circuit. With a clever, circular idea at its core, Blue Hole tells the story of an eerie lake, near a cabin in the woods, that is said to be the dwelling place of the Devil. A couple staying at the cabin read up on the legend and decide to visit the lake, only for the entity within the water to pull the woman in. Based on the unfinished writings about the lake, the man believes he can retrieve her...

The short comedy Fred, a fantastic computer animation, was a winner in the FILMSshort competition. Fred is a short short that tells the story of two ingenious mice, a wedge of cheese and a feline called Fred. The highly-skilled mice come up with a cunning plan to get past the sleeping Fred but they unfortunately wake him. Fred mistakes their attempts to bypass him as an invitation to dance. And Fred has some moves!
